Uni-Dot HistoryOriginally designed to provide shotgunners with fast, precise pointing accuracy, Uni-Dot fiber optic sights became a Lyman brand in 2003. The sights are an ideal addition to Lyman’s already well-respected line of metallic sights, which started 1879, when William Lyman patented the first No. 1 tang sight. Uni-Dot sights combine advanced fiber optic technology with proven optical principles. The design helps shooters aim with both eyes focused on the target while providing a bright dot that is only visible to the aiming eye and is perfectly aligned with the barrel. Mounted in a darkened tube, the dot is only visible when the shooter mounts the gun properly. If the gun is mounted incorrectly or the shooter lifts his head, the dot disappears. This revolutionary design assures proper gun mounting and shooting technique and is a great training aid for new and experienced shotgunners alike.
